China Town and Universal Studios Singapore: Day 2

As promise here’s the second part of my Singapore’s Travel blog. Singapore is just a small country but mind you they have the largest tourist attraction and fast growing economy. Oh well enough of that introduction, I’m not here to tell you the history of singapore (though I love history lol), so yeah! Me and my friend Donna, walk up at around 6:00 in the morning. We took a shower and have our free breakfast at 5footwayproject.inn at Clarke Quay. We left the dormitory at around 7:30am and we took the near train station Clarke quay violet lane(NEL- North East line) going to China Town which is only 1 station away from us.

This is the first part of my own made itinerary. They said it’s a must visit place but in my opinion (not really). It is just like your Divisoria, Quiapo or Binondo in the Philippines. Goodies here in China Town StreetMarket are also expensive in my opinion, however fyi again singapore is a high cost of living country. Even though it’s quite expensive, we still managed to find a pasalubong(souvenirs) for our friends and families. I got keychains nailcutter, tote bags, refrigerator magnet, tshirts, money tree and more.

We also visited the outside of this Hindu Temple named Sri Mariamman Temple. We only took a picture of it and we head up to our next destination.

One of the main highlights of our trip in this country is of course visiting the world famous theme park “The Universal Studios”. FYI only there are four Universal Studios in the world: Los Angeles California, Orlando Florida, Osaka Japan and Singapore. I’m lucky to visit the nearest theme park which is near in my homeland. I really dream to visit this place and yes! dreams do come true. From ChinaTown, again we took the NEL going to the last station Harbourfront. There are two trains meeting on the same place the one in Circle line(Yellow line), so please grab a free map in any train station so you won’t get lost. Upon arrival in the Harbourfront station we took the Exit E to vivo city and we use the escalator going to the 3rd level where you can take the sentosa express ticket. Also from the ticket station, they are giving maps of the Sentosa but if you want to study the place before you step your foot there download this SENTOSA MAP PDF for your free map. It cost $4 Singaporean dollar each ticket for adult(2 way) to ride their sentosa monotrail. For complete details visit Getting to Sentosa.

There are huge of tourist around and so we feel like “OMG! This is it!”. Me and Donna are giggling with excitement since Theme Park is the only place where adult and child (age) doesn’t matter. Oh it matters! no babies for technical rides. Sorry babies.

These tickets can be bought at Universal studios or online. We bought ours in our dormitory which is cheaper than the original price.

Just a few shots outside the theme park. You shouldn’t missed taking pictures for every details of the park. lol.

Well if your a big fan of sweet candies and chocolates. Candylicious store is a must place to visit and take M&M’s with you.

Ofcourse, who will missed taking pictures with it’s famous earthy universal studios logo. The fun begins after going inside the themepark. It will be very hard to describe each rides. So I’ll just put a small description of that. It is for you to find out what makes Universal studio a place to go.

I bought this for my little niece. She really loves it!.

We also saw these cute people in their costumes!

The first ride that we had is for kiddos, The Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase. I believe sometimes you need to feel like your a kid. So we saw elmo, big bird, cookie monster and the other sesame streets inside.

IMG_1947

Next we had is the accelerator. I think if you need to enjoy the other great and fun rides of USS, skip this. It’s not that thrilling but good enough for 3 years and above.

IMG_2048

One of my favorite is TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle. The first 3D experience I had is when I went to Enchanted Kingdom: The Realto. But this is definitely different kind of 3D because as if were really moving.

In that time the Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs. CYLON™ is not yet open to the public. So we missed the chance to ride. Maybe nextime? I hope so.

Next we had is the Revenge of the mummy. We ride here twice, because that time all other rides are closed due to the heavy rain. We waited til it stops. This ride is also a must try.

My Favorite rides so far is this Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure™. This is like Rio Grande of Enchanted Kingdom but what made it difference is the dinosaurs and 3D effect. The line is so long so I bet you can only ride once so you can enjoy the other USS rides. The canopy flyer is also fun.

We took our lunch first before taking another rides.

Inside the Far Far away land is the 3D movie house. It is like you were really in a cinema. The story that day is about shrek and princess fiona.

Their latest rides is the Puss In Boots’ Giant Journey.

Lastly we just go around the universal studio and took pictures. We really had fun and enjoyed it a lot. We will surely comeback!
